Folks are still finding success on the south side of Lake Poinsett. Both walleye and perch. Our access here at the park has been in great condition. As for the access off of Hwy 81, we have removed the cones because the ice at the ramp seems to be in good shape, but still use caution when accessing off of this ramp. - Lake Poinsett Recreation Area, submitted January 7, 2025

Good ice conditions 15+" in most places. Always be cautious and aware of: rock piles, pressure ridges, and inlets. Houses are scattered from South Public Access up to Rosie's rock piles and Rainbow Public Access. Walleyes, northerns, bluegill, and perch have all been reported. Minnows and chubs for walleye-northern. Grubs and minnows for panfish. - Wing N Fin Resort, submitted January 17, 2025

Ice is good on Lynn. Fishing is slower there than a lot of lakes in the area, but still some quality walleye, evenings with chubs on tip-ups. Chasing the perch on Waubay, depths vary 12 to 18 feet and tomorrow it will be different. Load those hooks up with spikes and wax worms. Watch for heaves as always, be careful. Lots of full size vehicles on the ice, but please proceed with caution. Extremely cold temps have solidified the ice. All of 15 inches and making more. - Lynn Lake Lodge, submitted January 6, 2025

Fishing is still holding strong in the area. Mostly a walleye bite on Bitter with plenty of action. Perch have been a bit harder to come by and seem a bit spooky with the lack of snow. Most perch action has taken a bit more moving and a bit of a chess game to stay on them. - Reel Therapy Guide Service, submitted January 17, 2025
A lot of people fishing this week with a busy crowd. Ice is 18-20 inches. As always, there are a lot of pressure ridges. Bitter Lake has a significant one. We don't want to recommend it, but a lot of trucks in use on the ice. Most people are getting walleye on Bitter. Waubay is seeing some perch action. You can expect to see some bluegill around. The Northern pike bite is fair. There is very little snow on the ice right now. Due to the fluctuating temperatures (-20 to +30), the ice is constantly changing. Be aware of your surroundings. – Sportsman’s Cove, submitted January 16, 2025
Lynn Lake - 17-19" of ice. Walleyes are good. Fishing weed edges in 8'-14' of water. Minnows has been the bait of choice. Water has been very clear, so any lure of shiny color works. Silver, Gold, Silver with Blue, or purple. Those colors with spoons has produced the best. Early morning, late afternoon, and early evening has been the best bite. Waubay - 16-19" of ice some spots thinner. Has been slow, but has been producing small walleye and a few perch. 20'-28' has been best. Basically anything in the basin. Glide baits, in firetiger, or anything in a perch color has been lure choice. Once again, Tingler spoons have also produced fish in those same colors. Bitter Lake - 16-19" ice. There are areas of thin ice. Has been hit and miss. Some areas are producing good fish and other areas the bite is tough. Basin has been the best with a high spot, rocky points, and anything with a depth change has been producing walleyes. Perch have been slow. When you find perch they have been finicky. Seem to be feeding intermittently and some schools are hungry and some are not. Tungsten jigs for lures seem to be best. WonderBread colors, and firetiger colors. Red spikes, blue spikes, yellow spikes and bait of choice. For additional lakes, check out my Member page. Dakota Lakes Lodge and Bait, submitted January 15, 2025
Waubay - getting some limits of perch on the north end around flag hill. 27-28 ft of water. Tungsten jigs with red spikes. Getting some keeper eyes as well in same depth. Bitter - walleyes 13-17 inches on the north east end out of the lodge 22-32 ft of water. Buckshots with minnow heads seem to be best. Few perch as well. Clear Lake - bluegills fair to good out in the basins as well as crappies. Lynn and mid-Lynn - some walleyes not sure where on the lakes. West Stink - fair to good for walleyes, 12-27 ft along the breaks. Ice seems to be 13-17 inches depending on where you are. Seeing truck traffic and ice castles out. Not all lakes have safe ice. Been hearing some lakes change quite a bit in thickness. - Galley Hotel, Bar, Restaurant & Guide Service, submitted January 9, 2025
