Fishing report for January 15, 2025:
Lynn lake 17"-19" of ice Walleyes are good. Fishing weed edges in 8'-14' of water. Minnows has been the bait of choice. Water has been very clear, so any lure of shiny color works. Silver, Gold, Silver with Blue, Or purple. Those colors with spoons has produce the best. Early morning, Late afternoon, and early evening has been the best bite.
Waubay: 16"-19" of ice some spots thinner. Has been slow, but has been producing small Walleye and a few perch. 20'-28' has been best. Basically anything in the basin. Glide baits, in firetiger, or anything in a perch color has been lure choice. Once again, Tingler spoons have also produced fish in those same colors.
Bitter lake: 16"-19". There is areas of thin ice. Has been hit and miss. Some areas are producing good fish and others areas the bite is tough. Basin has been the best with a high spot, Rocky points, and anything with a depth change has been producing Walleyes. Perch have been slow. When you find perch they have been finicky. Seem to be feeding intermittently and some schools are hungry and some are not. Tungsten jigs for lures seem to be best. WonderBread colors, and firetiger colors. Red Spikes, Blue Spikes, Yellows spikes and bait of choice.
Hazelden: 16"-19" of ice thin spots in areas. Crappie, and Perch have been good. 20'-28' of water has been producing schools of fish. Bite has been tough. When they do bite, the bite has been good. lures of choice has been tingler spoons and Tungsten jig heads. Spikes have been bait of choice. Red, Blue, Yellow and White spikes.
Clear lake (East of Britton): 18"-19" of ice Thin spots exist in areas. 10'-16' of water has been producing perch and crappie. Walleyes have been decent. Tingler spoons and Glide baits. Wonderbread color, Silver, Gold, and Firetiger. minnows have produced the best for Walleye. Perch, and Crappie have been hit on almost anything you can put in front of them. Including Bait. Spikes seem to be best though.
Enemy Swim: 17"-19" of ice. Fishing mostly in 8'-14' of water. Bite has been good for Crappie, and Bluegill. Tungsten jigs, almost any color. Baited with Red spikes. Blue Spikes have been producing also.
South Buffalo: Bluegill and Crappie have been good. Northern have been the main bite. Dead sticks with a minnow on a Tungsten jig head, or a spoon with a minnow head for Northern. Bluegill and Crappie have been hitting on almost anything if they bite. Spikes Red, and Yellow seem to be best when they do bite.
East Stink: 18"-20" of ice. Fishing the basin has produced Walleye. Glide baits, and spoons seem to be best. Once again Wonderbread color, and firetiger. seem to be best. Minnow, or minnow head seem to work good. Perch have been slow. Tingler spoons, and tungsten jigs seem to be best for Perch. White Spikes are bait of choice for the Perch.
West Stink: 18"-20" of ice. Walleye have been slow. A few Perch are bitting. Overall pretty slow on this lake.
Krause: 18"-20" of ice. 6'-10' of water for northern, Basin has produced Good Perch when they do bite. Glide baits with minnows seem best for northerns, in Perch colors, and firetiger. Perch seem to be liking, Tingler spoons with red, blue, yellow, white Spikes.
As always ALL ice heaves have been areas to stay away from.
